My parents and I did a lot of traveling as I was growing up and well into adult life.  We would often pack up the car and not have a set destination in mind but rather an intention to explore, hopefully see some interesting things and meet some nice people.  Our trip to Iceland in 2015 ended up being quite an adventure, a kind of a grand scale version of the weekend trips we were used to doing back home.  We rented a jeep so that we could go into the interior “roads” and ended up in places that looked and felt like Mars or what I imagine other planets to look like.  We drove on gravel, grass, through rivers and lost a tire close to where this shot was taken.  It was all part of a memorable journey.
