I loved many experiences that I had while traveling in Iceland.  One that was particularly unique was walking on the moss covered Eldhraun Lava Field which was formed during the Laki eruption of 1783. It felt like a giant squishy mattress and the colour, texture, scale and mixture of tiny plants growing between the moss was incredible.
