Much of the landscape in the Yukon is vast and rugged. It was amazing to hike along creeks or mountains and have open views that extended for kilometers in all directions. It was interesting to contrast this experience with that of being in a condensed forest that often would rest at the base of the trail. This collapsing tree showed signs of age, weathering and the harshness it must experience during the long winters. It was seemingly cradled by the trees around it, slowly dying in the company of friends.
